About
I'm Katerina Romanova, an oil painter based in Dublin and creating textured expressive pet portraits with the supervision of my cockapoo, Toffee, who believes every painting is actually about her.
I studied painting for several years as a teenager, then rediscovered my love for it with a focus on pets. My portraits are all about capturing your pet's personality - their character, their quirks, and all the little things that make them special.
Each painting is hand-made in oils on canvas, combining visible brushstrokes, rich texture, and fine details to create a lasting, personal artwork. I work with clients across Ireland and internationally.

The Portrait Process
Ordering a portrait of your pet is a thoughtful, personal experience from start to finish:
1. Share your favourite photos - I will help you choose the one that will work best. Clear, naturally lit photos, especially where your pet's eyes are sharp and in focus, tend to create the most expressive results. Please keep in mind that the level of detail I can paint depends on what is visible in the photo - I can only capture what I can clearly see.
2. Confirm your preferences and format - Several formats are available. A 50% deposit is required to book your portrait.
3. I begin painting - Each portrait is created by hand with rich, textured layers of oil paint on high-quality canvas. I use a carefully selected mix of artist-grade and premium student oils to achieve lasting colour and depth. The process takes 2-4 weeks, including drying time.
4. Final preview and delivery - I will send you an image of your finished portrait before carefully packaging and shipping it to you. Every painting is sealed to ensure durability and lasting beauty.
